Singer songwriter Alex Bevan has learned the “Rules of the Road” during the past twenty six years making friends through his music in Northern Ohio. Born in East Cleveland, Ohio in 1950 Alex began his musical career playing the French horn at Chambers Elementary School. His melodic imitations of rogue elephants stomping through wild savannahs came to an end in 1965 while at Shaw High School (yes, the one in East Cleveland) with the acquisition of a six string classical guitar. Propelled by a lust to expand his musical palette, Alex haunted Cleveland’s now legendary “La Cave” and “Faragher’s Back Room” night clubs and various coffeehouses singing at all the local “hoots” (we call them “open mics” today). While influenced on one hand by the pop icons of the day ( Beatles, Byrds, CCR), his early idols were of the “lyric folk” variety (Bob Gibson, Gordon Lightfoot, Tom Rush, Ian & Sylvia, Tom Paxton and just a smidgen of Bob Zimmerman). By the time Alex was a ready to graduate from the hallowed halls of Shaw High School he was performing as a backup musician with Irish folk singers Gusty and Sean at Fagan’s Beacon House in the Flats of Cleveland.
The formative years from 1968 to 1970 were spent with Alex bouncing around coffeehouses and nightclubs in Ohio as an active participant, backup musician, budding songwriter and full time student at Akron University while holding various jobs as a mold setter in a plastics factory, stock boy, farm hand, truck driver and bicycle mechanic. Through these years the desire to write and sing his own music was fueled by occasional trips to Nashville, Tennessee and Ann Arbor, Michigan’s famous folk club “The Ark”. The result of these ramblings and fledgling expeditions was to introduce Alex to his first producer Eric Stevens. Soon after being signed to the small but growing Big Tree Records, Alex’s first album “No Truth to Sell” was released with the single (45 rpm....little vinyl disk.....great big hole) “Linda’s Song” acquiring a small amount of airplay and allowing Alex to hit the road on the college coffeehouse circuit. The years from 1971 to 1976 found Alex logging many thousand miles of “hard traveling around this mighty land” (driving on the interstate roads) and performing as an opening act for such headliners as the Earl Scruggs Review, Pure Prairie League, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Jerry Jeff Walker, Jimmy Buffet, Livingston Taylor, Billy Joel and quite an eclectic list of other performers. All these influences combined and allowed Alex to grow into his own lyric style of “folk/rock” that culminated in Alex releasing his first of twelve self produced recordings.
The release of “Springboard” with the classic “Skinny Little Boy” song propelled Alex to a that of a regional star. Performing with an acoustic trio consisting of two guitars and electric bass, Alex became a favorite with the new FM- Album Oriented Rock stations and widened his performing base opening shows for the likes of Seals and Crofts, The Michael Stanley Band, The Doobie Brothers, Hall & Oates. It was during these years that Alex’s fast paced verbal improve skills were honed and his reputation grew on the college concert tours enabling Alex to add percussion and harmonica (in the form of Tiny Alice’s David Krauss) to his show. The “Grand River Band” or “Alex Bevan and Friends” continued touring in various incarnations from 1979 until 1981 producing such works as “The Grand River Lullaby”, “Alex Bevan and Friends Live” and “Simple Things Done Well”. Economic turns of the early ‘80’s changed the face of the ‘middle’ touring acts making it nearly impossible to continue to support a troupe of musicians and crew so Alex returned to solo performing with the release of “Tales of the Low Tech Troubadour Vol. 1” (the first non-symphonic direct to disk digital recording produced in Northern Ohio at the time).
Solo singer/songwriter syndrome provided Alex with a fresh palette once again with which to work upon the imaginary canvas of his audience’s minds. Through the middle ‘80’s he concentrated on his writing and raising of his infant son, William Cody Bevan. The albums (yep, recordings were still 33 1/3 and groovy back then) “Best Kept Secrets” and “Cuttlefish Live” document Alex’s forays into the studio and foreshadow the work to come in the early 90’s.
Dissatisfied with the more electric direction that his music had taken, Alex concentrated upon natural themes throughout a loosely connected body of works. “Watersongs” in 1991 heralded this return to a view of music more “felt than contrived” that has continued to this day. During this period Alex and Dave Young collaborated on a musical fairytale with an environmental message titled “Who Killed the Dragon?”. The work, while ambitious, seemed only to reach a narrow market but did set the stage for two well received and award winning critically acclaimed works. “Magic Moments from the Children’s Nature Schoolhouse” (produced for the Lake Metroparks) and “All the Rivers Run” (Produced for the Cuyahoga Valley Environmental Education Center) mark the maturing of Alex’s “children’s educational” music into a style that is engaging to young people and not offensive to parents (Barney, watch out!).
In recent years Alex has penned and album (oops...CD) of songs about his beloved Lake Erie (“South Shore Serenade”), produced five recordings for popular Put-In-By/Key West performer Pat Dailey, written over one hundred radio and TV commercials, won and EMMY for his postscore of NBC’s “American Promise” documentary segment “The Rustbelt Blues”, re-released many of his earlier titles on compact disk and worked as vocal and guitar talent on many friend’s projects.
His most recent release “Rules of the Road” is a live recording in a small concert setting. Once again Alex has gone to the deep well of storytelling in the acoustic tradition weaving intricate and singable melodies with words that fill the inner reaches of the heart and mind. His guitar playing is flawless, his voice compelling and his performances are masterful. He knows the rules:
Rule #1: Show Up to Play.
Rule #2: Get Your Own Self Home!
Alex lives with his golden retriever “Harp” near Lake Erie in North Madison Twp, Ohio.

O riginating in Akron, Ohio, Tony Rio & Relentless has been playing clubs, fairs and concerts for over ten years. This time's been spent perfecting their energetic and entertaining performance. They have evolved into one of the hottest and hardest working bands on the circuit.
Tony and the guys are Nashville-quality musicians with an uncanny and infectious ability to ALWAYS have a real good time! When set to task to critique them, it would seem that they really have it all.
• Great music ...check.
• Talented musicians ...check.
• Fun stage show ...check.
• An energetic, good-looking frontman ...check
• Down-to-earth guys who aren't afraid to 'mix it up' with the crowd before, during and after the show ...double-check!
What more could you want? As is proven by being voted the "Best Country Band in NE Ohio" multiple times, Relentless is the real deal!
The cover tunes they play are performed as good as (and sometimes better than!) the original recordings. Their original songs sound like they were picked fresh out of today's "Top 10" country charts. Speaking of which, Relentless is starting to get airplay! They are now recording under indie label, Alive Records. Their song, "Girl of my Dreams", is in regular rotation on 98.3 "The Bull" (in the Cleveland area). **as of this writing it is in the Top 10 most requested** The guys are also hard at work on their fourth album and hoping to have it released by the fall of 2007.
Having played with Toby Keith, Diamond Rio, Aaron Tippin, Lee Greenwood, Wynonna, Lonestar and countless other national acts AND having been voted the "Best Country Band in NE Ohio", Tony Rio & Relentless provides a great variety of country and country-rock hits, as well as their own highly acclaimed originals. And for great entertainment, Tony Rio is an electric performer, driven by the desire to wring every last drop of excitement from the crowd.
From Akron to Nashville and all points in between, it just doesn't get any better than Tony Rio & Relentless!

C leveland is turning into Music City North, and one of the groups leading the way are newcomers the Chrome Plated Cowboys. The band features lead singer George Stark, who bears more in common with legendary cowboy crooner George Strait than a first name and a pair of initials. Stark's, um, stark vocals are pure country, and he's able to put more emotion into a single syllable than most people can in a novel the size of “War and Peace.”
Backing Stark are lead guitarist Bob “Herr Direktor'' Schneider, bassist Bob “Too Tall'' Deyling and drummer Chuck “Dallas'' Yarborough. Dallas and Herr Direktor – so named because of his job of musical director and his somewhat tyrannical insistence on silly things like people being in tune – founded the Cowboys. They're both veterans of the Cleveland music scene, having played together in Classic Rock bands. Schneider in particular has been gigging around town since he was a high school sophomore. His youngest daughter just graduated from college, so that may give you a clue as to why these Cowboys refer to themselves as “Chrome Plated.'' Yarborough is a veteran reporter and country music critic for The Plain Dealer who attended college a half-mile from the famous Gilley's nightclub in Texas. Deyling is a high school classmate of Herr Direktor and you might not want to challenge George to a golf match; a former teaching pro who's still in the golf course business, he carries a 3 handicap.
Attending a Cowboys show comes with it a couple of guarantees. First and foremost is a good time. The music is the music you know, with a bit of an edge. With music from Dwight, Toby, Kenny, Strait, Garth, Brooks & Dunn, Tim, Gary and all the rest, plus a few of our own, you'll have lots of chances to dance, be it line-dancing, two-stepping or belt-buckle polishing. And when George starts on those ballads, you could end up in love all over again.

The ability to capture and connect immediately with any audience is a result of her warm interactive style, a superb vocal ability, and a stage presence achieved only by seasoned performers.
Logan has performed professionally for over 8 years. She first discovered her vocal talents singing karaoke at a neighborhood block party, where she hid behind the speakers, so no one would know who was singing! Shortly after that, she entered and won countless vocal contests. Industry professionals suggested she develop not only her vocal talents, but her natural songwriting ability as well.
Logan is now very much accustomed to the spotlight. She has played a wide variety of venues - headlining her own public concert appearances at community events, fairs, festivals, as well as sharing the stage with Shenandoah, Joe Diffie, Deana Carter, Marty Stuart, JM Montgomery, Billy Dean, Sammy Kershaw, Sawyer Brown, Kevin Sharp, Sonni Geraci, Terri Clark, Marc Chesnutt and legendary artists, Bill Anderson & Ray Price. Most recently, Logan was asked by the White House staff to perform at President George W. Bush's election rally in Westlake, OH to over 30,000 people and was so impressed by the performance, she was asked back to perform for our first lady, Laura Bush, at the IX center in Cleveland, OH.
Her striking good looks & relaxed, warm stage presence help her to create a fast friendship with her audience. Logan has all the ingredients to emerge as the recording industry's new superstar!
Logan's outstanding performances and popularity have her performing over 250 gigs a year. Logan looks forward to going on the road with her band in 2005. They will pursue larger venues headlining her own shows at fairs, festivals, corporate functions and theatres, with greater emphasis on performing her own original songs, as well as creating a well-rounded show of country/pop/folk/big band tunes mixed with star-studded costuming/comedy/impressions and a whole lot of fun for all ages! Logan Wells has been nominated three years in a row for Best Country Band at the Northern Ohio Free Times Music Awards!
Even with a busy performance schedule, Logan feels it is important to include many hours of community service, lending a hand at various benefits, as well as performing for the elderly, less fortunate, and the sick. She has performed bi-monthly at an area cancer home for the past 9 years.
"It is personally rewarding to go to a place where people need a smile...a touch...a song. Music is healing, and I'm fortunate to be able to bring some happiness to somebody's day or comfort them with a favorite song."
"If you told me 10 years ago that I would be pursuing a professional singing career, I would have thought you were crazy! This all started quite accidentally by my singing at a block party, and a new career snowballed from there! I pray for guidance on everything, so I said a prayer early on that if this was something I was supposed to be doing, that the Lord would provide the opportunities and guide me...and He has surely done that! I know deep in my heart and soul I'm supposed to sing...and that there is a purpose in everything I'm doing. I don't know what the future holds or what I'm suppose to do with this gift when I get there, but for now, I'm going along for the ride...and enjoying every minute of it!!"
"Country music has evolved into a different sound over the past 15 years or so, and my fans are telling me they like what I'm singing because they miss the traditional sounds from the early days, where the roots of country music started."
I enjoy performing and writing songs that have a more traditional sound, rich with acoustics, like steel guitars, fiddles, harmonicas, etc. - and the "Nashville Sound" that developed in the late 1950's. I love experimenting with different sound effects, styles, and delivery."
"It's an exciting time for country music, especially for women. We've come a long way since Kitty Wells and Patsy Cline opened doors for us, and I think women are being taken much more seriously and doing very exciting things in the industry. I hope to make my mark with my sound and style, and leave a legacy for those who follow."
"I'm also having a great time performing different genre's of music this past year. We decided to offer four different shows; an all country show featuring traditional country thru current country/pop/rock tunes, our special "Tribute to Patsy Cline" biographical stage production, our newest show called Women in Country, and a Variety type show that has a little bit of all genre's to satisfy all ages and musical tastes. I've had many requests to record a gospel CD, so that has been my latest project. It's an inspirational cd fill with songs of faith, hope, love, & morality type issues, and it's called Let It Shine. It's my best work yet and I'm very excited about the new cd."

Website: thebandcruisin.com
While being noted primarily for its Motown renditions, the band Cruisin's repertoire by no means stops there. The hits of Al Green, Sly & The Family Stone, The O'Jays, Van Morrison, The Temptations, Santanna, and others are consistently performed with a flare and style second only to that of the original artists.
The band Cruisin' is the blood, sweat and tears of Ron Howard, lead singer, sax player, and founder. Currently, Ron arranges music for Cruisin' in addition to acting as their booking agent. His goal, in his over 25 years in the music profession, has been to be the best entertainer possible, and to give the audiences great quality music.
To say the least, this is not your typical "let's put it together and play on weekends" group. This is a dedicated group of professionals with a strong following in a 5-state region who regularly enhance any venue at which they appear, whether it be the club scene, weddings, private parties, or municipal events.

Website: xanga.com/clayton_brothers
Myspace: myspace.com/claytonbrothersband
The Clayton Brothers Band and their style of “primitive rock and roll” have discovered, almost by accident, that they have filled the void of a long neglected audience.
The group was assembled by five musicians that simply wanted to have some fun playing some of the old songs that they enjoyed. Being “Baby Boomers,” songs from the 50’s and 60’s seemed to be a natural choice.
Rather than follow the usual “oldies dance” formula, the Claytons chose a more “primitive” approach. Selecting lesser known songs along with some big hits and choosing songs which have a little more “attitude,” the band looked toward The Kinks, Animals, Carl Perkins, Yardbirds, Johnny Otis, Zombies, Byrds, Sonics and a number of others to compile their song list.
The band soon discovered that they weren’t alone in their enjoyment of these great songs. One fan said to the band, “we stopped going to hear bands because no one was playing our music…” The audiences have continued to grow each year and their feedback confirms that this era of rock and roll is truly special and still loved by people of all ages. The connection between this music and the audience has become more than even the Claytons could have imagined.
The Brothers, all seasoned players, came together in 2004 to form the band. Brother Bill’s steady beat punctuates the three guitar sound that has become the “Clayton” trademark. His tastes lean toward the British Invasion and other group songs of the sixties.
Brother Marc, lead guitar and vocalist, provides the guitar riffs which are the signature to so many of the songs of the era. His knowledge and experience are key ingredients to The Clayton Brothers success.
The original Clayton is brother Terry. In addition to bringing a solid rhythm guitar and vocals to the band, he is also a successful country-western songwriter. He helps this rock and roll outfit be “a little bit country.”
The voice most often heard at a Clayton Brothers show is that of brother John. In addition to his rhythm guitar, bass and vocal duties he is also the link between the band and it’s audience. John’s fondness for the British Invasion and his taste for folk rock brings out the gentler side of the band.
The Clayton Brothers Band is one of the few groups which can boast four accomplished vocalists. Brother Rob’s taste for the blues give the band yet another dimension. His vocal interpretations of blues based rock along with his steady bass and soaring harmonica complete the mix.
In performance The Clayton Brothers Band has a very basic goal. Have fun and invite the audience to have fun too. Check this band out. They make it very difficult to avoid having a great time. The Clayton Brothers Band…Primitive Rock and Roll for the “now” generation.
